Review of medications you are going through - Your doctor will check all the medications you are on and based on the result, he will take further decisions.

Treatment of other eye related problems - Other problems like any type of infection or inflammation can decrease the chance of a successful corneal transplant. Such types of issues will be treated first.

Before the procedure

On the day of your cornea transplant doctor will ask you to keep relax. Sometimes doctor might give you some sedative to help you to relax and a local anesthesia to numb your eye. After that doctor will do surgery on one eye at a time.

After the procedure

Once cornea transplant is done, doctor will give you eye drops and few oral medications immediately after the surgery. These medications will help in the recovery of your eye and will help to keep your eyes safe from the infection, swelling and pain. These medications will also help prevent cornea rejection.

Once surgery is done, initially your vision will be worse than before. This is because your eyes will be adjusting to the new cornea. It can take few months for your vision to improve.
